I cant get my new bp to eat.

I got 1.1 pastels about a little over a week ago, just attempted to feed them for the first time on Saturday It was hard to get the male to eat. I tried the dead mouse dance with my tongs and he still wouldn't go for it. So I then just put the F/T mouse in with him and turned the lights out and i can back 20 minutes later and he was eating . The female is a different story, I cant get her to eat no matter what. Could it be that she doesn't feel comfortable in here new surroundings yet? And should I keep attempting to feed every day, or would you suggest just trying next week? Please!!! Thank you..

Do not attempt to feed everyday. Double-check your husbandry, leave the female completely alone except for spot cleaning her cage or changing her water and try again next week. Congrats on getting the male to eat, it's always a big relief when a newbie eats for you.

That's your problem right there offering too soon after a refusal will only lead to stress and lead to more refusal, wait at least a week after refusal before offering again.

Were both of those animals eating F/T with consistency prior to you getting them?

Yes they were both eating F/T consistently. Garrick from royalconstrictordesigns.com said he was feeding them two F/T mice or one F/T rat. So I attempted to feed her a rat also. Maybe next time I will get her two mice

Just wanted to add that if you just picked up these snakes they may still be stressed from the move. They need a week or so with good conditions to calm down and get used to their new homes. So stop the everyday food attempts and just make sure your setup is correct.

I know the way I said it made it seem like I've been trying everyday. But I tried the original day( thursday) and then again last night. She didnt take it so I threw it away. Thank you guys for the help.

Re: I cant get my new bp to eat.

If the snake doesn't eat the F/T, you should dispose of the rodent, and not keep it for a couple days to retry. At that point the decomp will be pronounced enough that you would not want to offer it.
Good luck, give her a while, and hopefully she'll eat too.
