Just a few questoins about RTBs?

1- How big do they get at maturity, weight and length?

2- And about what age will they reach that size?

3- What is their average lifespan?

4- What do they eat as adults?

5- How big of an enclosure do they require?

6- Are they docile enough to be handled daily?

7- Does the color on their tails fade out as they get older?

I think RTBs are amazing animals, and I'd love to have one. But I'm still undecided. Thanks for any info.

Re: Just a few questoins about RTBs?

Your question are very vague and can all be answered in different ways depending on species, locale, etc. The genus Boa is rather variable, and the true 'red tails', B.c.c are all pretty large. There are plenty of respectable care sheets and even books to read, and they'd help you narrow down your questions and really hone in on what you're interested in.

There is a pet store nearby that always has three or four RTBs for sale. They are all small, about two feet long, and the sign simply reads "Baby Red-Tail Boas." That's all the info I have. So I guess whichever specie most commonly finds its way into pet stores is the one I'm most curious about.

The are probably a common columbian red tail

here are some common morphs, ive been told by a few people that have seen mine in person that she looks to be a Anerytheristic Boa, however some say from photos they don't think so. the photos usually end up giving her more color then she has since i warm the photos with a filter to take the flash effects out. either way. dont matter to me
