So frustrating...
So I got this new female normal last weekend at the show, and she will not feed for me. Tried two days ago, she was stressed and didnt take it. Actually got very irritated and hissed at it quite loudly. Tried again today, she struck a total of four times, all of which didnt even touch the rat, and then proceeded to hiss like before. What should I do? Wait another week and try again to no avail? I just dont understand why she would hiss like that. Also, the rat was f/t, not live. Any suggestions?

Re: So frustrating...
Gotta give her time to settle in before feeding. She's stressed out. Good luck.

Re: So frustrating...
Give her about a week to settle in, and you should never try to feed back to back like that, always give atleast a minimum of 4 days before attempting again.

Re: So frustrating...
I give them two weeks before I try to feed. Leave her alone and let her acclimate.
The more attemps you make, and the sooner together they are, the less chance you have of her eating.

Re: So frustrating...
She'll settle down soon enough. As the others said, she's just stressed, needs to be left alone. After a few days of isolation she should be nice and calm.
Try again sunday.

Re: So frustrating...
Was she feeding on f/t before you got her?
I agree, you're offering food too often. Give her at least a week (maybe longer) to settle in before offering again, and handle her as little as possible in the meantime.
Good luck!

Re: So frustrating...
Thanks for all the advice, appears it was a mistake on my part. Will try again in a week or two.
