One breeding group fostering another breeding groups pinks

I have 4 groups of 1.4 pumping out litters for me after a month and a half of waiting. One of the groups had 20 pinks that are now about a week and a half old. That same group just had another litter of 12, 2 days ago and I noticed that the new pinks were always completly shut out by the 11 day old pups and I was worried that they would just die off. Ya know the whole survival of the fittest thing. Anyways I took the new litter and threw them in with a nother breeding group that also has a new litter of about 15 and the foster group accepted them as their own. Just wanted to post up that info here incase anyone ever wondered if that would work. Has anyone else done this?

I did that and ended up with all the "foster" pups dead. It could just be the mean mommas that they where. I am glad that it did work for you. I may have a similar problem coming up soon, looks like mom B is just now showing as there is 10 day olds in there from mom A.

I have had some luck fostering... but on the flip have had others promptly eat the new babes.

Ahh that sucks you guys! Its now been over 24 hrs and they are all still there so I think I'm safe. I don't know if it matters but I first only stuck 2 in their nest to see if they would eat them and after a few mins of the mothers licking them I decided to throw 4 more in and wait to see what happened. When they were all there at the end of the day I threw the rest into the nest. I don't know if that helped with them getting use to the smell or if I just have nice asfs.

I have done it before, but have always lost a few babies in the process.
