    two pups for 08s?

So this morning I fed my two 08s a F/T rat pup, but the LPS just called to tell me they got in the live rat pups I ordered two weeks ago and they want me to come pick them up tonight (??). Is it ok to feed these guys two pups each today? Goober is 190 grams after a poo, and Itsy is about 255-260. I don't want to stress their systems by feeding them too much at once, and two pups seems like a lot. I wish had thought to weigh their pups before they ate them, but now I'm out so I can't. I will be gone on the days when they are next scheduled to feed, so they wouldn't be eating again until March 27-29ish, which would give them ample time to digest.

Let me know! If two pups would be too much I'll have to come up with some way to euthanize them and stick them in my freezer for the end of March.

    Re: two pups for 08s?

They will be fine. My '08s get 2-3 adult mice per feeding, and a couple of them get fed every 3-4 days. Why are they not going to be eating until the end of ther month? They should be eating every 4-7 days or so. If they take F/T you should get a big bag of rats and use it.
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?

Wow, that's a lot of food in one sitting! I guess I will go ahead and give them the extra pups then.

They normally eat every 5-7 days, but I will be gone for several days (Sat-Fri or so) so will be unable to give them their normally scheduled feeding. They do take F/T and I do normally have a large bag, but the two I gave them today were the last pair. I'm getting more tonight since I have to go pick up the live ones now.

I was going to feed them at the end of this week, before I left, but if they get two rat pups today they will probably be fine until I get back. I will see how they are looking come Friday.

Well it's not just hatch season that counts, it's the size of the snake that governs the size of prey item you give to it.

The LPS didn't have frozen rats in the size I need (near-weaned/weaned), so I placed an order with them. Should get them when I'm back on March 28!
