My New Little Worm (Probable Super Salmon)
When I got her in a last week, I noticed she had a raised portion on her snout. I had noticed it in the picture the breeder sent me, but he dismissed it as nothing (camera angle or whatever). Once I informed him of the situation, he was extremely apologetic and offered to do something to make it right. So, we'll assume he didn't notice.
Anyway, she obviously had an abscess. It was drained, cleaned and medicated. She was placed on antibiotics and she just finished her shed cycle. It took a little effort (on both our parts) to get it all off, but she's shiny and brand new now! Looking much better. Not completely healed, but a great improvement. Apart from being a little dehydrated, and a small scratch/scar on her nose, she's in good shape now.
Honestly, I would have gotten her regardless of whatever flaws she has. She is a beautiful, well tempered, young (very small) lady. She has wonderful colors (pinks, burnt oranges, pastels, purples, etc), a trippy looking stripe in splotches going down her sides, and an awesome reduced pattern to boot. I can't wait to see the colors she gets as she ages!
Time will tell if she proves out to be a Super.
Sellers photo.
Below are photos taken outside in the sun.
I love the dark orange splotches in her eyes.

My stupid camera washes out a lot of her colors, they do her no justice at all. I also didn't want to mess with her for very long, so they aren't the best quality.
Anyway, I lubs her.

Crissy, how old is this snake? What is her current weight? What is her feeding routine as far as type and size of prey offered as well as frequency of feeding? Might I ask who the breeder was?

Re: My New Little Worm (Probable Super Salmon)
Joanna, I'm not sure exactly how old she is. I emailed the seller a few days ago and asked several questions and he has yet to get back to me. I'd guess she is probably a late 2008 baby, or an underfed early to mid 2008 baby.
Like I said, I got her last Monday, she just finished shedding today and I offered her a f/t Rat Fuzzie (approximately 15 grams). I didn't want to give her anything too larger, considering the stress she's been through. It left a lump, but nothing too noticeable. I'll probably be feeding her every five days for the next few months (smaller meals) and then bring her to a normal schedule.
She weighs around 109 grams on empty. She weighed 103 grams when she arrived, but it seems through hydration, she's added a few grams of weight.
The vet did a full check up on her, including parasites and caring for her abscess. She's under extremely heavy quarantine at the moment (and for the next six months, possibly more). Everything seems alright with her respiratory system, digestive tract, no mites, etc.
I can private message you the breeders name, but I never feel right about bashing someones name, especially someone who offered to make the situation right.
Fact is; I knew something could be wrong with the animal when I agreed to purchase it. A part of me fell in love with her because she was possibly injured and I could help. I've had years of experience with reptiles (and all animals) when it comes to rescues. I just usually don't pay to be able to treat them.
Thanks for the comment, and any advice is always appreciated. So, feel free to share.

She is incredibly reduced, aside from her absess, she is a knock out!

Thanks, Connie. She's a complete sweetheart. I've been having to put topical medication on her daily, and she takes it with a grain of salt.
The abscess is all but gone, the vet completely removed the infection. She has a scar where he had to open it up, but it is hard to tell, even now.
Just need to put some weight on her now.

I think so too. I was told she was from a Super Salmon x Salmon Jungle (100% Het Albino) breeding. While the seller wasn't honest about her condition, it seems like a possibility that she was born from that pairing.
Thanks for the comment!
