    Shedding alittle to often?

Hey, Ok, so I know snakes shed approx. once every... 2 months, or 1 and a half months. And if they have mites, they will make themselves shed more often. Yes my guy had some mites, and Ive been spraying him, and cleaning out his tank and washing him off. However, Id just like to know, if its ok that his last 2 sheds were only about a month apart. He is growing fast, i feed him once a week, and am considering once every 2 weeks. If I could get some feed back. Thanks!

when my female bp was little she'd shed every 3-4 weeks, i could almost set a clock to it
and she was(and still is) 100% healthy and i feed her once a week.

oops, didnt mean to give thanks to post above.

anyhow. my BP is starting to enter his second shed cycle within 5 weeks. he is packing on the weight very good now when they grow they shed when ever they have to. there is no predefined cycle. its kind of like clipping your nails. u cut them when u got to. you don't have any predefined nail growth schedule do you?

I think 3-4 weeks between shed cycles is normal for a juvie. Thats how often my little ones shed, Although the bigger of the two is a little overdue.

    Re: Shedding alittle to often?

i offer my yearlings food every 5-7 days and everyone else is offered food every 7-10 days, i keep track of my snakes eating habits, weight, shedding habits and when they use the washroom . . . some of my snakes shed like clockwork some shed when they shed . . . maybe the reason ur snake has shed more fequently then normal could be becuase of the mites and the sprayin but it might also reflect on its growth rate, either way i wouldnt be too worried and it might help to start keepin track of your snake(s) so you can try and figure out whats the "norm" is . . . good luck!
    Cheers!
