Columbian or Peruvian
Hello,
I found this beutiful young juvi in a local mom & pop pet store here in DFW area. She is in the cage with what clearly looks to be Columbian BCIs. However, she is much lighter in color. She doesnt have the many speckles/freckles like the others.
So, I have been looking like crazy trying to figure out a definate way to identify where she came from. I have noticed in many pics of the Peruvian BCC a dot btween the saddles. She also has this dot. So, I am thinking she may be a Peru BCC.
I have been lookin for a columbian BCI. But, wow she is so pretty.
So bottom line is worst case scenerio is she is Peru BCC.
Does the Peru BCC make for a good pet? She will be a pet no breeding or anything like that. So, a docile temperment is the most important thing. She is wonderful now. She seems perfectly fine being hadles. She is not shy or jumpy. She climbs all over me every time I go see her. I have been going to see her every day.
Should I stick to looking for a Columbian BCI or do you guys think that the Peru BCC is also good tmpered and fairly easy to care for?
Thanks for any feedback....

I highly doubt she is a Peru BCC, but she may have some BCC influences from somewhere. It's not unordinary. If she's tame and you like her that much, GET HER and post pics

Thanks, I just went to see her at the store...Wow, if she is not a Peru BCC..She looks like one. So, purchased her. I will pick her up after spring break. I will post some pics when I get her..She is amazing.
Anybody know any Boa breeder here in Texas that I could talk to about her?

You know a Peru boa when you see one. . And most aren't very light in coloration after a year or so. Like Jimi said, I doubt it's a Peru boa. Especially from a pet store. Could be, but unlikely. Spots, dots and speckles really don't mean squat in determining a locality....even more so when buying from a petstore. It may "look" Peruvian, Colombian or whatever, but you really don't know.
.
Post a photo when you get a chance.
