Name that boa
Well I just put down a deposit on a lovely RTB, the issue is we aren't sure of the locale. The guys at Emerald Bay think its a guyana/colombian cross but i'm not exactly sure. Here are a few shots of her to help out.

Re: Name that boa
Some full body shots and pics of the tail might help the boa-gurus take a more educated guess. I would guess though, if the guy you got it from doesn't know and they believe it to be some sort of cross...then the chances of ever knowing exactly what it is are pretty slim.
Regardless though....that's a gorgeous face on a gorgeous snake!

Re: Name that boa
That's just nifty because I think I have a pic that may help. All I know is that he/she consistently stuffed her chubby little pointed tail into the pressure point by my arm pit, not amusing in the least bit.
If a better pic is needed I can take on or get Ashtin to take one tomorrow and post it.
Oh, and thanks for the comment, it is a b-day present for me (April), but Ashtin really wanted the guyana they had but then they got this little beauty in. She actually fell asleep on her shoulder.

Re: Name that boa
My money would be on some sort of BCI/BCC cross.
The peaks on the saddles resemble that of man BCC species, while the drab color resembles that of a BCI

Re: Name that boa
We kept looking through a RTB book that Emerald Bay has but couldn't find any patterns that anywhere resembled hers.
So could she be a colombian/guyana (or maybe suriname) cross? If I remember from my boa thread I started like last month they were both BCI and BCC.
Here is a quick pic I found of a Guyana.

Her saddle peaks kinda resemble this one.
And the sides match this Colombian.

Here is a Surinam

After looking at them she looks like the guyana/colombian cross is possible with looking at color and saddle patterns, And I think she may have inherited more colombian if that is the case because her tail is dark like it.

Re: Name that boa
Judging from the peaks on the saddles (more bcc than bci) and the color of the tail (more bci than bcc), I'd venture that you do have a bci/bcc cross. As for the locale of the bcc... well... anyone's guess is as good as mine. A pure BCC has the potential to be identifiable from it's looks, but not always. When you get into the crosses it gets too tricky to tell exactly.
However, I think it's safe to say you got yorself a good-lookin cross. If the guy you got it from says it's a guyana/columbian cross, I'd take his word for it.

Re: Name that boa
I am getting it from my local exotics store that I go to and my fiancee works at. They got it on a trade in for another animal and I think the guy that traded it in said it was a guyana/colombian cross. Either way he is as sweet as can be, just gotta think of a name...

Agreed, the BCC influence isn't really strong, but its there.
