can i put a heat matt right on a rubbermaid?

my boa is soon going to outgrow her tank and i'm worried about heating it since i don't have a rack, it will just be the tub. can i take a regular ol' zoo med heat pad and put it on the bottom? i've heard of them warping the plastic.

You should always have a heat mat controlled by a thermostat so it doesn't get too hot. So long as the mat is kept at temps that are safe for your snake, it is also safe against the plastic.
