5' milk in 55 gallon?
I know, so many questions, so little time, sorry. I just got really lucky on a 55 gallon and wonder if I could move my 3 yr old 5' hondo into it after his shed (he's currently in 29). I thought about getting a JCP or a beauty snake, but honestly don't really have the money for another snake right now. If I filled the tank up, would he stress? I love him and love watching him, so I was wondering if he could be my big display snake or not.

well, actually I just took the measurements and this turns out to be a 45L instead of a 55. So it's 2" shorter. That helps, right?

If it's 48 inches long then the height of a 45 is fine.
He'll be quite happy there.

While you're waiting on him to shed, you can set up the new tank, and tweak all the heat/humidity/decorations. I love setting up new pens!! Such fun, and less work than rearranging MY furniture.. if I had furniture.. lol.
Can't wait to see the new setup! PICS!!!!

thanks Theresa!! That's what I'm planning now. I have some lovely wood that has been waiting for a large cage.
But there is a small amount of black silicone that would be in view. What can I get it off with? Is this product safe?
Silicone-Be-Gone msds on product I know it says Hydrotreated kerosene: Confirmed animal carcinogen
with unknown relevance to humans. That is for exposure, but with adequate venting time, outside, would it be safe? Elbow grease the best? what?

You might be able to simply peel it off. If not try cutting it off. Short of that, wrap a plastic plant around it and you'll never know it was there.
