Re: Have you ever seen this before???

that's really neat heather! As long as they seem to not hurt her and she continues to eat and gain weight i guess she should be fine? When you helped her shed around that area, did you notice if you pulled off some extra scales? I would imagine that the dermal area on the mouth would be thinner than the rest of the body, which would possibly explain the pits that she has now? Or genetic deformation. Other than that,I have no idea except blarg....

    Heather,
I've seen this more then a few times. Like someone else mentioned usually in younger animals. Not sure what it is, I've never really payed much attention to it.

Heather did you ever figure out what the extra heat pits may be? Well for some reason I looked at my Mojave pair (2008) and a 08 Yellowbelly and so far all 3 have these funky holes....

I don't think they are possible issues from the newspaper that I use for bedding. I use to use white mat paper from my printing company then for some reason I don't know why I started using newspaper and saved the white for my albinos. I do know that they all seem very sensitive in this area like they are actually holes and are painful. I am going to e-mail Ralph at RDR to see what he thinks it they are.
