    Molly: First Photos

As promised, here are some photos of my ball python (Molly). She's about 19" long and is still a bit shy, but she came out for some pictures. These were taken a week after her shed and a day after feeding, so you can still see the bulge in her belly from the mouse.

    Same pose, different angle...

She got mad and retreated to her hide...

    Looking good.

I would ditch the big hide and get two identical ones that she can barley squeeze into.

I'm glad to see the digital temp, humidity gauge in there, the analog one can be thrown away.

The 26% shown on the digital humidity gauge, is that inside the tank or outside?

Slim; the readings on the digital meters can be disregarded, as they were taken right after changing batteries and they hadn't had time to calibrate yet. The humidity inside the cage is a constant 50-55% (by the meters), but it will lower to around 30% if I don't mist the bedding once a day. Good eye, Slim.

Using the meter right out of the box, the black thermometer / hygrometer was reading 105 degrees and 70% humidity... in my 70-degree bedroom! So I had to install good batteries and hit the "reset" button. Love technology, I tell ya. Oh, she ate for me for the second time Tuesday She actually made a face strike that ended up with the mouse's nose and face in her mouth, then coiled around it. She didn't even have to adjust her head's position on the mouse. Again, she swallowed it upside down.

Great progress pictures...How much room will Molly have to grow in that hide you have? I saw that at PetCo and was wondering how much room they really have?
