    Failing Bulbs?

So last night I noticed my night glo bulb had died after about 4-5 months, no big deal. But today I found that the CHR failed in the same way, both bulbs it seems have become detached from the metal peice that goes in the light socket, like the metal piece deteriorated. Im wondering what caused this to happen, its happened before. Also I live in a very cold place so before you say CHEs and bulbs are bad, just know Im aware of it but im also aware they are the onlything i can use to keep my temps up, so please just stick to the issue of the bulbs failing at the same time.

I have had that happen to my ceramic heat emitters on my Beardie enclosure. It usually happens after about 6 months, so I kinda just expect it now. One thing you can try is a Radiant Heat Panel. They are similar to CHE's but are guaranteed to last 10 - 30 years. It raises the ambient temp just like bulbs and CHE's. They are more expensive that CHE's ($80 vs $20) but they last so long that it pays for itself.

Make sure the lamp you're plugging them into is rated for high wattage...maybe they got too hot for the lamp? For my beardie's cage, I used lamps with ceramic sockets.
