Advise on what to do?

I'll make this short and get right to the point.

I was at a house to day that had 2 Burms and three balls all adults, these snakes are being kept outside, no hide boxes, in small 10-20 gallon tanks with repti-bark, very small almost empty water dishes, and NO HEAT sources, last night the temp was in the 40's. tanks have old feces and shed in them, just disgusting

The owners of the animals weren't there, I took easch ball out and inspected them one had scale rot in a couple places, they were sooo cold, it broke my heart.

Animal control has been out there in the past for the numerous cats and such, I just don't understand how they could not say anything regarding the reptiles.

My first instinct was to bag em up and take them with me, What should I do?

Call animal control and report them. Keep it legal and on the books. Yes the animals may suffer but you have to handle things in a proper and forth right manner. Be the better person.

Contact the aspca or a humane society (of if you have local reptile rescues contact them) and talk specifically about the reptiles. If anything maybe they can convince the owner to turn them over to a reptile rescue.

Well I have decided that I am going back over there 2morrow armed with video camera and digital camera, then I will call animal control (I don't have alot faith in them).

I am going to video ALL of the various animals living conditions.

That is the best way to go about it. Make sure it is a humane society and not animal control as humane societies usually have a better response than county animal control.

Perhaps you could try to contact a herp rescue near you to help out? They might even have some sway with animal control / humane society. I found this site - http://www.anapsid.org/societies/florida.html Towards the bottom it lists several her rescues in Florida - I'm not really sure about your location but I thought one of them might be somewhat close.

I have the numbers to animal control, the humane society and a rescue place that the humane society sends their reptiles to cause they don't house / care for reptiles at the humane society.

I kid you not when yall see the pics you will better understand, and it's not just the snakes, there are cats that are kept in a room they are all sick and I know that none of them are current on vaccines.

Just be careful with getting hardcopy evidence (pics, videos, etc) without permission of the owners. I don't know if you can or can't get in trouble for it, but that was my first thought when you said you were heading in with a camera.

Well what's he gonna do sue me, it's not like I'm violating photocopy rights, and in my opinion what about the rights of the ones who can't speak for themselves the animals.

As long as you aren't trepassing when you go, then I don't think taking pictures is a issue. Go the legal route though, just stealing the animals makes you into a criminal.
