Amazing stuff! I am surprised that you have feral pigs though I guess that I shouldn't be.

    Nice pics!

Just curious, are you working mainly in the central valley area? If so, I'll have to hit you up for some good herping spots for the next time we're in Fresno. One more thing, sounds like you don't like the big bull frogs, just wondered why? They must be good for something, frog legs on the BBQ...

    Awesome breathtaking pictures

I was wondering the same thing about the bullfrogs, too. Does anyone know more about Kat's job and why she doesn't like the bullfrogs. The first reference to them was "shooting bullfrogs" and I assumed she was talking about photography, but then the pics labeled them as mortal enemy and bad froggy Uh oh...that can't be a good thing for the bullfrog.

Re: Best of 08 Fieldwork. *Severe DUW*

I know a bit about it.

One of my research projects involves eliminating non-native bullfrogs from my research site (since they eat all the native species here in Cali). Bullfrogs are not native west of the rockies. We introduced them in the 30's as a possible food source. Turned out to not be such a great idea. So now we are looking at whether there is any way to 'rebound' native species if we remove the bullfrogs....

    Cheers,
    kat
