My guess would be kink. If it's a kink, it's gotten to the currant size with it. If it's a injury, then hoepfully it's gone to a vet.

Well, ive seen rdr's kinked caramels too, but those are way too different from this poor guy. Rdr's caramels have a mountain-like kink, while this one have a sink-hole like one. The owner says this one is feeding, and defecates normally. Its been 2 months since he got this guy, and claims that when he received this guy, the hole-like kink seems like a small fold on the skin only. More like a snake w/ a bad shed, as he described it.

And someone here also described it as the ash tray phenomena? Where the muscles contract, and forms a hole-like depresion like this one. Honestly, I never heard of it before, anybody had an idea bout it?

i would for sure with out a doubt in my mind take him to a vet to get him checked out. just to make sure its not effecting his health. if its not hurting him, for sure give him a shot as a pet.

I have a ch that has a similiar defect, not as severe. He has not been injured. It is either a problem when developing in the egg or it is genetic. This is why I kept him since without testing there is no way to know if it is genetic and I don't want someone to buy him and possibly breed him. He still eats shed and poops without any issues so I gave him a chance at life, he will be just a pet. Had he not had this defect I would have kept him as a dinker project since he has some nice chocolate brown coloring and hes a black back.

that isn't necessary if he is healthy and thriving.

I feel that we need a little more information on him; how old is he, does he pass urates/feces, does he eat well, etc. If he does all of those things well and without assist, then he can survive just fine.

I have seen VERY kinked animals in person and handled them. One of them had several (3-4) very large kinks down the lower third of his body but ate, defecated and behaved fine. Now he is just a pet. There is no need to euthanize and animal that is thriving, who just happens to not look right.
