    American Shrew Mole

I was adding this pic to our Wildlife section on the website, and thought I would post it here as well. This is the first time we have seen one of these on our property after living here almost 8 years. Our cat brought it tous on Christmas morning. What a xmas present. She didn't kill it, just played with it, just as she normally does with the other wildlife she catches. This is an American Shrew Mole (Neurotrichus gibbsii). I hope you enjoy. I think it looks kind of cute, even though many other moles as adults, and even larger species, typically are very nasty looking creatures.
