BP soaking for the 1st time

om i have had my bp for over a year now, he is a typical bp who has almost never refused a meal. Well for the past couple of days i have been trying to feed him but with no success. Last night i looked in the tank and to my surprise he has coiled himself into his water bowl with his head the only part that is not submerged. I awoke this morning to him still soaking I have read that this could be dur to ticks etc parasites but i havnt seen any so if any one could help it would be very much appreciated. Thanks

it could be coming up on shed time. sometimes they won't eat just before a shed. this would also explain the soaking. if you haven't seen ticks or mites then it probably doesn't have them.

Lucas is right but if you are not a very experienced ball python owner I say wait a couple more weeks and if it continues its time for a vet check

Yeah I've seen that happen with my balls every so often. They're all perfectly healthy with no ticks/mites anywhere but sometimes they just like a good soak! I agree though if it continues then a vet check may be in order.

Did you check the water very very thoroughly to see if there were any black specks floating? Mites don't really look like bugs they just look like specks of dirt a little smaller than ----> . <----
