i have no idea, but I would have assumed they weren't legal anywhere in the US.. I've never heard of them being kept as pets. Have you researched care much?? I would also have assumed that a fox would be a little too "wild" to keep, but then again there are a few people who successfully raise bears.

no there are captive bred foxes that are just like dogs. They are legal I just don't know if they are in kansas. as for research YES.. you obviously don't know me... if I'm interested I stay awake for days doing all the research I can, print it out and read that over ten billion times before I actually start doing what I want to do. IMHO nothing with animals should be half assed. Everything has to be PERFECT.

If you can do it that would be one cool pet. As you said I'm sure you have done your research and man if I could realistically keep a pet like that I would love to.

As far as I know, all non-domestic canine species are illegal to keep in all of the US. This includes cayotes, wolves, foxes..dingos if you have them, etc. However, hybrids are becoming more and more common and are often legal, but require some hoop jumping to get papers, permits etc. Foxes are common pets in England and apart from the smell potential, make good pets.

Their is a guy that has one for a pet in Ohio. He brings it to the Cleveland reptile show form time to time. Talk to you state DNR about it. I also know someone that live about 30min away that has a Mt. lion as a pet. I have also seen a black bear cub for sale($300) at the Columbus Oh show.

Ya the smell potential, Wow. At the Toledo Zoo you can smell the Artic Fox before you are at it's cage.

If you really love foxes(like I do!) you may want to check out a fennec. They're adorable, and the size of a chihuahua. Exotic mammal dealers sell them.

Im sure you can have them if you dont get caught. My parents had a coon before I was born that came in and out of the house as he pleased was a really good pet to slept in the bed with them. This was in Kansas to. Where I grew up in Soldier, Kansas we had 2 foxes that lived on out property we saw them quite often you could get about 5-7 feet from them till they started to back away. We never could catch them in a live trap they would get the food out without setting off the door trigger. We wanted to relocate them due to the dogs we had. We had all sorts of half tame animals around there for some reason.
