more.. lol.....
1) does the switching of substrate stress the snake at all?? the store has them on bark.. and I'm going to put him on aspen... does it matter at all???
2)and where do you place the probe on an acurite therm?? does it go on the glass right above the uth?? or in the substrate above the uth???

I would not imagine that the switch in substrate would cause much of a concern.
As for the probe, I would place it on the glass

also what to do if yu get mites?? i know to use provent a mite in the cage but what do you do for the mites that are on the snake??? do yo just soak the snake??

You can soak the snake in water that has one drop of dish soap in it (to break the water tension).

For the mites, you can get something called 'Mite Off' by Zoo Med in a small blue spray bottle. It's safe to use on the snake and surrounding furnishings to kill mites but it will not prevent them. So PAM is still necessary to use once a month when cleaning the tank. Be sure to let it air out completely before putting the snake in. You may also (as mentioned above) soak it in lukewarm water with a bit of mild soap. =]
