    photoshopping out backgrounds. Help

I thought there was a sticky somewhere on this, but I've lost it.

Help! I suck at getting that nice 'clean' look I see everywhere else.

    Any advice welcomed!

    Cheers,
    Kat

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

    Re: photoshopping out backgrounds. Help

I dont know if its me or not, but its hard to describe how to do it.

As you can see on this page

    http://heathersherps.com/collection.html

I chopped out all the snakes...

The easiest way for me to describe it is... You can use the trace tools and trace around the snake and then use the eraser tools to cut away the jagged edges... If you say the file as a gif make sure you have transparency checked and you save the transparency color as the same color of the background the image is going on...

    Hope that helped some..

It's honestly hard to describe, or type, Jane...but I will help you out to the best of my abilities. I will shoot you a PM with my number, so I can run you through the steps, and discuss it with you After you get it down, its fairly easy to do with a steady hand. I do it with quite a few of my pictures Like the spider pics I posted...

    That background really isn't there...

    Re: photoshopping out backgrounds. Help

I use the background eraser tool if I have a picture with a similar color background.

I use the pen tool method if it's a busy background and touch it up with a soft eraser. :]
