    Help naming my little girl

Ok, so I went to a reptile show sunday with my little sister who has like 13 snakes and ended up falling in love with a little 90 gram spider ball python girl, after going back and forth between her and a gargoyle, which is this bizarre but cool little amphibian. However, I'm not sure what to name her. Here are some ideas I have. I've been trying to pick something related to her (African, Spider, Snake, or Halloween/Autumn).

Widow (like a black widow spider)
Samhain-pronounced "Saween" or something like that. It's sort of Celtic for Halloween, though it's actually a pagan/wiccan holiday on the same day, meaning the same thing.
    Arachne (african for spider)

That's basically all I've got at this point, but if you have any other suggestions, let me know! I'll post pics of her as soon as I can, hopefully tomorrow or wednesday.

This article may not be work safe

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultura...ons_of_spiders

This is wikipedia's article on spiders in culture throughout time. You should find something there. Avoid obvious spider based names (Widow and Arach~anything) because they seem kind of corny and overused. But that's just my own thoughts on the matter. I got 2 new ball pythons, both girls, and named one Persephone because she has face/skull like markings on her sides, and Persephone is the Greek Goddess of the Underworld. I named my Fire Ginger because she was very hissy, and was acting like what I have stereotyped female red heads as (aka like my cousin, haha) and Ginger is a named used for redheads (I'm a redheaded ginger kid, by the way).

?Zena? BTW...a gargoyle is a really neat gecko, not an amphibian

I like Arachne as a name -- similar to that is 'Ariadne', also from Greek mythology, who wove a silken thread to lead her lover through the maze of the Minotaur.

Or 'Nona' -- Roman name, she was the thread spinner on the Wheel of Fate.

Or Charlotte, like in Charlotte's web...

Lol. I couldn't remember if it was considered a gecko or not. Aren't geckos amphibians, though, as well? They're definitely not reptiles...at least I don't think they are :-P

I know Widow and Arachne are kinda overused, that's why I wanted to get opinions on them, but I really like Ariadne, or the latin counterpart Arianna. There's not a whole lot of spider folklore that I can see, unfortunately, so those two names might be overused, as well.

I also found some names from scary movies (halloween related): Samara from the Ring and Regan from the Exorcist.

    I like Charlotte and Arachne.

Hey sis. How's the little girl doing? You'll have to get some pictures posted if you have a camera.
