    Carefresh

    Hi!
Does anyone use this? I am currently using aspen for the snakes, but I keep rats too, and I use carefresh type stuff with them. I'd rather just keep one big bag of something then two different bags and I like the way the paper bedding looks better.

My biggest question about the carefresh is how would it hold up humidity? I would think that if you spray a bit, or if it get's wet, it would smell mildewy? Is that the case? My snake enclosure has ventilation, but nothing like the wire cage the rats are in.

Also, what about dust? Is paper bedding too dusty for snakes? Also, there's this stuff I found that has baking soda added for odor control (a plus for the rats, but not an issue for the snakes.) My guess is the baking soda would be a no-no for the snake. Correct?

My guess is that I will probably continue to use aspen, but I'd like to know if anyone uses and likes paper (carefresh) type bedding.

    Thank you!!!!

    Re: Carefresh

Carefresh really isn't worth using. The stuff holds moisture a little too well and can get really gross, and the dust issue can be uncomfortable for rodents.

    Stick with aspen.

If you want to be able to use only one bedding, use aspen for both the rats & the snakes.
