    Arrow bedding

ok now that the tstat is running i have a new problem i have some 16 qt tubs some 28 qt and some 41 qt tubs in my rack the 16s are a perfect 91 degrees but the 28s are like 85. now my question is i know if i leave the aspen in the 16s and put newspaper in the 28s and 41s it will raise the temp in them. now can i use printed news paper. i see ralph davis and 8 ball all use unprinted is there something wrong with printed will the ink harm the snake?

    Re: bedding

If you use printed try to stay away from color news paper... Like Classified ads, stock quotes and etc.

    Re: bedding

The ink on newspaper is vegetable based and 100% harmless. The reason I use unprinted paper is just personal preference.

    Re: bedding

The ink from the printed will sometimes run onto the snake, and make them look a bit dirty. Not anything to be concerned over, and many people do use regular newspaper to line cages. I have used it with perfectly good results, but currently I use unprinted packing paper left over from my last move.

    Re: bedding

You can get a box of packing paper sheets from Home Depot for under $9.00. I think it comes with about 165 quite large sheets of paper. Robin (rabernet) told me about it and I'm loving the stuff. Newspaper is fine but you can sometimes end up with green bellied snakes LOL (just harmless dye of course).

    Re: bedding

You're actually looking for a gradient of temps anywhere between 91-94F on the warm end and cooling to about 82-84F on the cool end.
Ambient temps are nice at around 80-82F!
