Re: HELP! Is menthol harmful to snakes?
I wouldnt think so, I mean as long as it didnt come into direct contact then they should be fine. But then again not completely sure.

Re: HELP! Is menthol harmful to snakes?
I called Dr. Stahl's office and the receptionist had no idea so she asked Dr. Stahl personally. His response was along the lines of "thank heavens you don't have birds, but snakes should be ok". He recommended to move them out of that room if they were in it (they aren't, weren't, and never will be in the 6 yr olds room...), and air the house out as much as possible, which is already happening.

NIce call on talking to the Doc!
They should be ok. At least you don't have my black lab in your house lol. He absolutely hates the smell of anything like that, especially Ben gay. A few months ago I had gone to use some on my hands ( 24 and have arthritis go figure) and some dropped on the floor, before I could even tell him no he was on it. Licked it right up. He was ok, but his facial expressions were priceless.. of course after I had my heart attack
Needless to say, he even sees the bottle and he starts wrinkling his nose up and backing away slowly.
