Hmm i've never encountered this in a snake before but maybe if it continues take her to the vets.

Definitely have your vet do a fecal & check for the presence of any type of internal parasite/worms/protozoa, as they can cause a swollen vent, as well as reduced appetite.

Never encountered a spayed snake, however.

alot more people on here know alot more than me.
I'm sure any animal can be neutered, but I'm not sure why someone would do it to a snake. It's not as if they can jump over the fence to your neighbor's yard and mate with their pet snake.

What if the snake hasn't pooped recently? Is there anything else the vet can check?

It's really surprising that so many people think you need poop to do a fecal sample. I've seen it on almost every topic explained that you don't about going to the vet.
They just take a swab from their cloaca to get the sample.
