I am looking at breeding Dubias. Just trying to figure out the best place to buy a starter colony and also whether hatchlings can eat the smallest roach nymphs.

I was breeding the Orange Head Roaches (Eublaberus prosticus), the advantage to them is that they can't climb or fly, and they DID breed like crazy.

Cool! From what I see, Blaptica Dubia can't climb or fly either. We are breeding mealworms as well which is going well. Lots of beetle love going on!

Those babies are sweet! I miss leo babies sooo much!

I recommend blaptica dubia although it takes longer to get a colony of them established than it does some of the other species. You really need to set them up and let them breed for several months before you start feeding them off (unless it is just a few at a time). After that they'll be established and you'll be golden. The nymphs are small enough for baby leos to eat.

I told Jamie the roach thing is all cool w/ me... As long as I don't have to be involved with it. I just can't handle it. I might become comfortable w/ it after a while, like I did w/ the mealies, but roaches just give me the creeps. So rock that out Jamies!! Thanks for the comments guys!! These guys are so feisty and cute!
