Russian Blues x American Blue has Russian Silvers. Which are a pale Blue.

American Blue x Mink or Ruby Eyed Gene (Beige) or Chocolate has Platinum. A very pale blue colored rat. The Chocolate and Mink colored Platinums are quite a bit darker, but they are still a very pale blue.

Crissy, you and me are going to go over my next few pairings, I would love to have some platinums! (So far, a lot of colors have been random pairings)

It almost looks like your newest blue litter is some kind of dilute. To me, it almost looks like they are Russian Silvers. Beautiful little babies.

Hehe, you should send some my way. I just have my Russian Hooded girl left. All of my Russian Blues, Platinums, Silvered Russians and Russian Silvers had to go when we move.

    I miss breeding rats.

Well, I'd have to go look in my records, but dad may have been het for RED. Mom was beige rex stripe. (And such a perfect stripe she has too) They really are the lightest russian blues I've ever had in a litter, but it's nice to hear others agree.

Hmmm probably explains why mine are so light then. It's hard to photograph them and show how their blue has layers to it with this white/silver underneath. The mothers of the blues in that picture were if memory serves are one of my Minks and one of my many Beige Hoodeds (ruby eyes).

Awwwww! I didn't see them, such beautiful little light blue babies you two have.

It's very possible, they are awful light. I would say they are a dark platinum though. Platinums can often be mistaken for a beige. Those babies look like Mink or (if Chocolates weren't so rare) Chocolate Platinums.
