5 for 5... every hatchling took a rat pink. :)

5 for 5, I could not be happier.

I fed this weekend, and only the normal male took a rat, it was 5 days after the last one shed.

So tonight, thanks to my bestest rat Pepper dropping a huge litter of pinks last night, I threw everyone a pinkie rat... 2 hit immediately, 2 within the half hour, and the last one is constricting as I type this...

Just have to get the normal male to take one more rat pink, one PK and then one FT and he can head to his new home.

Here is a pic of the male normal.

    Thanks for reading.

Been reading about how to start them for about... oh, two years now, and was completely prepped for all those trouble feeders.

Having them all take it tonight was such a great relieft (maybe they'll stop tagging me now?).

Way to go Bruce, they can take week old pups that are nice and plump from the get go, not fat enough when they are newborns!

Re: 5 for 5... every hatchling took a rat pink. :)

Thanks all... I am liking that this litter of pups will take them through feeding #3. It is all good.

I knew the pups were a bit young, so I was hoping I would get the feed response, and then by the time the others were 4 days they would be good to go again, and 3rd meal at 7-8 days.

PS: In other great news, my little het axanthic assist feeder took two ASF tonights. I had been feeding her consistently, then on advice left her for about 3 weeks to let her build up some hunger. Sure enough I popped the ASF over the lid and she hit it before it hit the ground. Even took a second one.

Got a WC to eat, got all my hatchlings to eat, and now my assist feeder... Yeah... feeling like a competent keeper right about now.
