ASFs for corns?
Does anyone use ASFs for their corn snakes?
Are newborn ASFs small enough for new hatchling corns? If not, would it work to feed only a head? Or maybe alternate head one feeding, remaining body the next to be sure the snake is getting the right nutritional balance?
Also, I would guess full sized adult ASFs are too big for corns since they are the right size for BPs? Although in my case that wouldn't be too bad since I have BPs also to eat up the adults.
Thanks!

Re: ASFs for corns?
We've just started feeding our Nelson's Milksnake on ASF's (young ones, not weaned yet). I don't imagine they are all that much different than your average cornsnake that way. A pinky aka newborn ASF is about 4 grams in weight if that's any help to you as far as judging how suitable they are for your cornsnake.
My only concern with ASF's is that as they reach adulthood they may be more difficult for some colubrids to manage since they aren't the powerful constrictor hunters that ball pythons are and ASF's can be a fast moving, fairly nippy animal. To alleviate that issue as our Milksnake requires bigger ASF's we'll be offering them to her as frozen/thawed prey (since she could care less whether her dinner is live or f/t).
Her response after a lifetime on first mice, then very young rats, then on to young ASF was pretty much the same...if it's warm and a rodent...she's pretty happy about the whole deal.

My corn gets ASF's and loves em...though to be fair I think he'd eat just about anything you tossed in there for him.

Re: ASFs for corns?
My corn LOVES his ASF's. It took him a while to get used to them, but now that he is used to them they produce an immediate strike every time.
I guess corns are different from one another because my corn hits and wraps just as agressively as my most agressive balls. he has no problem with full grown ASF's. (but keep in mind, he is an above average sized corn)
Yes you should be able to feed the baby corn snakes just born whole live ASF pinks. I feed my kingsnake asf pinks, and it is about as big around as a pen.

I've fed asf's to children's pythons (that I have currently) as well as an amazon tree boa.
