    My first snake

I hope I'm posting this okay...

This is my first snake, Stanley. I've wanted a ball python for awhile but have only just been able to get one.

I got him after moving across country and now its just me and Stan, so we spend a lot of time together. He's farm bred, and he is an energetic curious little fella, he's 14 months old.

He loves to be held, and likes to ride in my hoodie pocket when I go out to get the mail, and he spends a lot of time sliding around his blanket.

    And checks his email too:

I hope I didn't do anything wrong while posting this, I've never posted on a forum before but I love my little Stan and wanted to let people see him.

Look at it I realize my pictures are too big... I have no idea how to get smaller ones, I just have them off of photo bucket.

Aww, congratulations for you and Stan! He's a good-looking snake. You should post photos of his enclosure too, so that we can look it over and give you any pointers if you need them. I bet he's one happy guy.

    Re: My first snake

Thanks everyone, I've already been here a half dozen times to get information about Stan, (we've had a little bit of a learning curve) and its been an incredible help.

And after all the negative comments I get about Stan from people at work (who knew so many people don't like snakes) it's really exciting to get to talk to other people that think snakes are as cute as I do!

    Re: My first snake

People have quite a negative outlook on snakes in general. Once I bring it up, I'm always asked about how many times I have been bitten or some other thing people generalize snakes by. It's their loss for that mindset.

Congrats on your awesome healthy snake, and welcome to the site. You, like most of us, will soon get the BP fever, which is in fact not cured by cowbell.

    Hey there! Welcome to BP.net!
Let us know if you have any questions, thats a very nice looking snake you have there. :]

Also, I use photobucket to resize my pictures all the time. Above the picture theres an edit button, click it and a new screen can will pop up. Above the picture you will have lots of editing settings to choose from. Click resize and type in a number less than 800 in the width section and it will scale it down for you.
Just click save and your done!

    congrats!
    welcome! ...kinda lol

    and

many people think "all snakes are bad, they get 30 foot, and kill people, by stangling them, or using venom."

but its just a common steriotype (spelling?)
