Best place to get 1000+ gram females...
Can you guys reccomend the best place or person to grab some 1000+ normal females from?
I want good, clean, healthy, normal females. I need to build up my female breeding stock for the fall.

You can contact NERD, or any of the breeders, and ask if they have any.

Jason, just remember when it comes to these bigger females you do not want somebody's females that have slugged out regularily or never bred for them so they are dumping them on you. Be VERY careful of the "deal of a century" on larger female BP's.
Also some of them will be WC adult female imports that may have laid a clutch and then never ate. They are a lot of work and may or may not turn into settled, breeding females for you. They are wild caughts so you need to know if they have been treated for internal/external parasites before you open that shipping box and end up with problems and vet bills.
The fact is, Jason, there are rarely quick routes to big, healthy breeding females. You might luck out here or there but most of the time it's better to raise females up yourself, in my opinion anyways. Remember, whatever you do get - proper quarantine, especially if you intend to introduce these females to your males at some later point, is an absolute must.

Also remember that even IF you get breedable sized females, it often takes them 2 years to acclimate well enough to be receptive to breeding. So, just because you get larger females, doesn't mean they'll breed for you.
I'd rather get younger females and take the two years to raise them before breeding.

if i were you and i wanted big female i would just look around you i have bought a few breedable female from people close to me and i know a few others that have alo bought there female like that. you always hear people talking bad about plaes like craigslist but i have bought ten girls from there and two of them gave me eggs this year and the rest should next year and i never spent over 75 on a girl. my one girl gave me 12 eggs and when i got her she was 2500 grams and has never refused a meal and i only paid 50 for her. but if you don't know how to sex a snake it 's harder to buy as i have found most people don't know if they have a male or female and some that think they have male really have females and the other way around.

I bought 7 normal girls between 1,000 and 1,400 grams from Ralph Davis last November, and 6 of them are laying for me this year. Guess I got lucky about the 2 yrs thing, lol. But I am not sure he has any more... But shoot him an email...
