whats breed mean?
Hi, if i have 10 bps as pets does that mean i breed them?
Do the people with 100 tubs & 100 pythons have them as pets or strictly sell them?
Or do they keep them as pets...
Cuz I want more of them as personal pets so I was just wondering thanks!

Re: whats breed mean?
You're not breeding them until you pair them up and produce eggs and then babies.
I have ~25 - they are all beloved members of my family - but they are also breeders as well. If you told me to choose just 10 of them to keep and get rid of the rest - I'd be hard pressed to make that decision, because I love them all.
I will be selling some of their offspring as well as keeping some.

By definition only if you put a male and female snake together on purpose (with the goal being to get baby snakes) are you truly breeding.
However the laws in different states/counties/areas differ and sometimes just the fact you have more than 1 of the same species of animal means you are a breeder regardless of what you plan to do with them (i.e. in one Indiana county if you have more than 3 dogs you are considered a breeder...even if all 3 are fixed and that means you need a license)....strange laws.

I think the breeder question has been addressed... if you do not breed them, then you are not a breeder.
I do feel that you can have myriad snakes and they are still pets. If you are passionate about these animals then you do not take them for granted.
Even in large numbers their impact can be as great as when you just had a few.
Breeding does not change that.
I tend to fluctuate b/w 15 and 20 bps at all times, but I know every snake and respect them as more than my breeding stock.

A breeder has intent to breed.. if they are just pets and have one clutch by some accident on cleaning day I wouldn't consider you a breeder rather an owner who's snake laid eggs.
