The Dobermans
I was directed here from the "Newbie" section, to post more photos of my dogs. I'm glad to see so many members are also dog folk too!
Ilsa first - she's my oldest. She's a great dog but VERY demanding. She's the undisputed boss of the house!
Ronin next - he was a re-home from Ilsa's breeder. He had been the pick puppy of a litter of twelve. The breeder kept him unti he was 7 months old, and then decided to find a show home for him. His new home looked GREAT - they were wealthy with two homes, had shown and finished dogs before, already had a dog that was very well cared for... But something went wrong. We think they were scared of him, since he's very intelligent, strong, and probably one of the sharpest Dobermans I've ever met (but that's what you get when a dog's grandsire was one of the best Schuthund/PP dogs in the country). He's not a dog to mess with, he'll try to take your face off if he doesn't think your intentions are good. Anyway - his owners muzzled him 24/7, crated him for 20 hours at a time, sent him to "doggy bootcamp" where they shocked the living daylights out of him (he was 10 months old at the tme), as well as sent him out with a professional handler who beat him. One of the breeder's friends saw him being punched at a show, so my breeder demanded him back.
I got him at 20 months old. His breeder told me I wouldn't make anything out of him, that he'd been broken... not true! He's pointed - owner handled - in the AKC ring, and has his CGC. it's taken a looooong time to bring him around to where he is today, but he's a one-in-a-million dog.
Lastly... Ada. She's a turd, she thinks she's a Doberman. Very active and robust, she's from a working breeder so she's got a very functional body type. An old corgi person once told me to only get a corgi if the breeder had her dogs working stock every day. It took awhile, but in the end I did find a breeder who worked their dogs. Ada is still a "teenager", so no titles yet. We'll be trying for her CDC/TDI in the next year or so.

Re: The Dobermans
Great pics. Glad to hear that you ended up with the second one. It is terrible how people sometimes treat animals. Sounds like you will be able to provide a loving home for him. BTW, the last two pics made me laugh.
