Its a Marbled Orb weaver (Araneus marmoreus), brown color phase Jumpers, and Orb weavers are far from harmful, and are very beneficial to us. Jumpers take care of pest/harmful insects such as mosquito's, fly's, etc. Orb weavers do the same with animals like mosquitos....yet they tend to trap a lot of butterflies and other animals too. The only "harmful" spider we have in the area is the Northern Black Widow (Latrodectus variolus), which is darn near impossible to find to begin with.

Pshhh, catch them and ship them to me lol. Most spider species aren't protected in the USA through shipping or anything.

As for the Cam...look into something like a Nikon, Olympus, or Canon D-SLR. Most entry level D-SLR's run around $500-600. Don't be scared to buy a refurbished, or used one either Plan on using it, not kissing it good night

I think it looks cool! I like spiders, big over small, but I do like the small ones too.. Im just a little iffy cause I got bit by a recluse while staying in Texas once- hospital trip=not fun.
