So I got some unexpected eggs!

So This weekend on 6/7/08 i found myself in a crazy situation with random eggs completely unprepared!

I explained this kind of everywhere else, so pardon me if you know the story!! its my first clutch ever though, and im pretty excited now that things are calmed down!

over the winter one of my racks heating element died. So to keep the critters from getting cold, i doubled them up, males with males and females with females. Didnt think much of it. I got my flex in, and put everyone back home.

Long story short, a few months ago i was just going through sexing the snakes, and my Het Albino "Male" that ive had for awhile now, didnt seem like he was a male at all! So i probed... Four scales, either side. Uh, OK then! i guess its a female! i didnt really even think of the whole housing issue over the winter. there were no signs, other than just not eating!

well, fastforward to the seventh, i open up her tub, and lo and behold i see her piled upon something....

and instantly my mind goes into freakout mode. I had THREE eggs! She wasnt even up to breeding size!! probably a 900+ gram girl... i would NEVER have dreamed of breeding her at that size. poor thing!

All is well now though! Mom has taken two mice * i wasnt sure she'd actually eat for me, but i had cleaned her up real well, and her tub AND the slot of my rack shes in, and all of her stuff, so i wanted to give it a shot* Shes got a long ways to go though. So im hoping she keeps up the appetite! the eggies are set up in an incubator with a herpstat t-stat that a friend is letting me borrow THANK GOODNESS! and all are fertile!

    Mom and Eggs

Mom taking her first meal after all of this mess! *sigh of relief*

Now of course.... the wait! ( Im not sure who dad was, either my pastel male, or my spider male, or one of two hets!)

Next go around, when shes actually ready, ill be putting her with my het albino male

What a great story!! Snakes know what to do and people can explain very little of what they know. This girl was ready even though she wasn't at the golden age that is always spoken of. It sure seems to be all good: eggs are fertile, mom is eating, all's right with the world!!
Congrats!! I can't wait to see the little buggers!!
