    Introducing... Michelangelo!

    Hi everybody!

I thought it might be fun to introduce you all to my crested gecko, Michelangelo!

He is an orange dalmation, AC (Anthony Caponetto) Marble line, one of the very few in Canada!

    From the AC website:
    Marble Project
This project is unique to Anthony Caponetto Reptiles. The "marble" name is not necessarily meant to be a new morph, but rather the name of this bloodline/project. The marble project started when I got a pair of hatchling geckos from Bobby Pruett (Rhacodactylus.net). As hatchlings, they appeared to be nicely colored "dark fires". As they aged, the male's pattern stayed the same, but the female began gaining an unusual amount of orange mottling (or marbling) on her sides. By about 9 months of age, the dark color on her sides was barely noticeable. I knew that their parents were unrelated, so I bred the original female to her clutchmate, as that was my best chance of producing more geckos with the female's appearance. Out of that pairing, I produced only a few geckos that I consider to be marbles. I'm now producing geckos that represent the second generation of this project.

Fortunately the Marble project was a success, and these hot little guys/gals are the result. Mike isn't even fired up in these pictures, but the patterning on the back is quite unique. It looks like chips of marble alternating in color all down his back. Very cool. I'm so happy to have him!

    He is around 7m/o.

I named him Michelangelo in honor of the Italian Renaissance painter, sculptor (almost exclusively marble), architect, poet and engineer. Since he is a 'marble' bloodline, and the dalmation spots look kind of like ink or paint drops, I thought it fit.

    Thanks for looking!

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Nice. Anthony has some great stuff. The spots make me wonder if he's related to Chips somehow?

Being a part of the marble project I don't think he would be related to Chips. Sometimes dalmation spots are totally random--I have one female that has thrown 1 super dalmation baby each year and with several different males--neither she or the males she has been with had much in the way of spots at all.
