Our failed turtle hunting trip! (DUW)

Last week, Jason and I went to find turtles at the cranberry marsh near Black River Falls, WI. It's no longer used for cranberries. Just a great place for fish and wildlife. Well, We didn't see one freakin turtle but we had a blast anyways! There are some swampy areas and some grassy areas but we mostly hung out in the sandy areas!

Yeah, we had a lot of fun! Climbing up those sand dunes was quite a workout! One of the highlights of the trip was afterwards when we got home and Jason pointed out that I had gotten a little burned! I was so excited! After 6 months of winter, I can't wait for summer!

It's maybe too early in the year for the turtles to come out.

Yeah, most everything (besides frogs and toads) are still in their dens. There will definitely be another field herping trip to that spot.

Yeah, later in the season, that place will be covered in turtles! It's probably my favorite place to fish but I think that's mostly so I can explore and watch the turtles dart around in the water!
