    Re: Crestie or Leo?

I voted Crested gecko. I have kept both, and currently am breeding cresties.

I love them to pieces, they are so sweet. They really are very easy to care for.
The room temps they require are great! You don't have to buy thermostats, and heating mats.

They also eat the crested gecko diet! Which smells like banana bread lol.
So you aren't required to have crickets.

They can live in smaller enclosures. 20 gallons preferably for an adult. Although I do have a couple that stress in anything over a ten gallon.

    Re: Crestie or Leo?

I vote leopard but i've never kept cresites. I hear they are easier to care for once you have the setup right, the diet can be much simpler with cresties. But still, i just love leos faces too much i guess.

well, i have both... i say get what you like! the only thing that's 'easier' about cresteds really, is that they do not necessarily need additional heat.

    Re: Crestie or Leo?

I voted leo because I have never kept cresteds. I really dont think you could go wrong with either choice. They both have their advantages. I went with a leo because I wanted a good easy to care for desert species. I am studying to be a high school biology teacher and want several different species in my classroom from different types of environments. Good luck with whatever descision you make.

    Re: Crestie or Leo?

Both are good, but it depends on the person. I've had both, but I prefer leos. I'm more inclined to animals that just eat bugs. (I also keep tarantulas/scorpions so raising feeder bugs isn't a problem for me.) I got tired of mixing diet all the time for the cresties.

    Re: Crestie or Leo?

well I breed both soI just have to say if you want one to hold all the time a leo is better creasties are jumpy and dont like to be held that much but for a super easy to care for pet its all about the creastie no need for lights just a cage plants to climb on and food and your good to go
