    "Field" might be stretching it....

Since it was on my front steps when I arrived home from work... lol... I hesitate to call it 'field herping' but it's as close as I've come lately.

    A minute later,

And about three minutes after that,

I don't think it's a native florida anole, as I believe they have longer snouts, but it was bright green when I arrived, and dark brown within minutes, and I thought people might think it was neat to see the drastic difference.

    I consider that field herping.

You can learn alot about lizards by sitting and watching anoles in the back yard.

I lost a bunch of photos from last year with our backyard herps.......anoles breeding, babies running around, territorial conflicts....you can see it all two steps out the house.

Great stuff. I go yard herping all the time

Haha! Yes, I was watching out the front window at work today going "Loook! That male is really displaying a lot.. I bet there's an interloper male around..."
My co-workers know I'm insane. They can't even spot the lizards.

Re: "Field" might be stretching it....

    I really enjoyed the pics.

Some of my favorite animal watching is done in the house. We used to have these frogs that would sit on our windows, at night, and wait for the bugs to be attracted to the lights. They were awesome little guys, and I missed them when they left.

I'm enjoying the box turtles currently. I had to move one across the road in front of my house the other day.
