Best dogs ever!! I love labs. I have a black lab myself. However only one.
If only I got paid to sweep two times a day and vacuum lol
A quick tip, and much cheaper than the furminator brush. Check out the Kong Zoom groom brush. Its made out of rubber, and its a hair magnet. Also reduces shedding!!

Re: Our Labradors & our Golden Retriever
I will have to check that out! I never use the furminator because I don't want to pull out undercoat on my dogs too much. I want them to keep their otter tails and good Labbie coats since they swim every day, and I would *NEVER* furminate a Golden Retriever. I am coat proud, though!
Labs sure are great... hehe I don't get paid in money, but the love and laughs are priceless!
Your avatar snake is way cool, btw

Re: Our Labradors & our Golden Retriever
Yeah I would love to try a furminator but with a lab, I'd like to keep his under coat. There is a reason why its there. He also loves to swim. He sees water and he is gone lol.
The zoom groom takes out a little bit of the under coat, but not like the furminator. Its more of a shedding aid, in taking out what is loose and supposed to come out.
I know what you mean about golden retrievers, their coats are beautiful. We had one for years. She was an angel. We lived on a farm and during the middle of winter, in 2 ft of snow one of our goats had had babies unexpectedly. We didn't know she was pregnant. The babies had rolled out under the fence in the snow and couldn't get back in. Goldie (our retriever) had heard them crying and wandered out there late at night. We found her the next morning curled up next to the barn in a ball with both baby goats squished into her warm belly. She saved their lives. She was so proud of herself for it. When she saw us she was giving us smiles. She was a good dog.
She did a lot of things like that.
Definitely awesome dogs!!

That is such a sweet story... nothing like the nature of a Golden (or a Lab). They are just so special!

Re: Our Labradors & our Golden Retriever
Oh what lovely photo's! Labradors are my favorite breed. We've had two black Lab females in the past (one passed of old age, another sadly of cancer) and currently have a wonderfully goofy year old female yellow Lab named Bella. For me, there's just no better breed for a family dog than a good natured Labrador.
Thanks for that tip on the Kong Zoom groomer. We already love the Kong line of dog products - world's best chew toy - so we'll look for that next time we're at the pet store. Bella's a typical Lab when it comes to shedding. I now wish I'd never gotten this navy blue couch right before we adopted an almost white yellow Lab! What a mess.

LoL I know what you mean. I have a sage green couch and a black lab. It sticks out like a sore thumb, not to mention the white kitchen floor and tile
I too love Kong Products. Zoom Groom is about $10.
