Those of you with an AP rack, need your input

I got my AP rack wired up and plugged into the herpstat. I have the probe slid all the way into the grove and left it there and right now, the heat cable is a temp of 120. Keep in mind its a fresh system with empty tubs. I am starting to think the probe should not be in that little slot but should actualy be touching the heat cord itself.... right? Or do you just have the probe as far up the groved slot for it?

Right now the herpstat is set to 85, 100% power. When I check on it, the temp was 87 and the power was 0

here is a pic of the probe placement:

I just don't want to melt these sterilite tubs out before this thing gets stable

Thats fine. You want ambient temps, not DIRECT temps on the cord, cause that will always read hotter than ambient.

    You should be good.

Thats right where it needs to be,use silcone to glue it in place so it dont slip out, mines works great it don't get that hot my helix is set at 96 to get the tubs at 90 to 93 in the back,I love the AP eco. rack.
