    Our New Additions

This is Syka our Ball Python
    http://www.ball-pythons.net/gallery/.../3/3/syka2.jpg

This is Vlad. We are told he is an Irian Jaya Carpet Python, but we are not too sure if it is.

If anyone knows or can help us to identify if he really is an Irian Jaya Carpet Python that would be great! Thanks

    Nice snakes!

I googled the Irian Jaya Carpet Python and looked through a couple caresheets / photos. Looks like he's the real deal. All the photos match. The head markings are identical to other pics.

    Thanks!!
I forgot to mention that we were told it was a cross between the Irian Jaya and the Jungle. Not sure if this matter any.

Nice, but I believe that the carpet is actualy a jungle carpet: http://www.rainbowboas.com/jungle_carpet.htm

    http://www.carpetpython.antaresia.com/ for the IJ carpet

    and one more: http://www.herpo.com/pythons/ngcarpet.html

A long time ago I had a pair of youngster Irian Jayas, they where reddish in color

    But they are smokin animals

    Re: Our New Additions

I'm not 100% sure with the lighting, but your carpet looks more like an Jungle to me. I'm not seeing the slight yellow brown shading you'd see in an IJ. The dark sections also look black instead of brown/tan.

    Re: Our New Additions

It's very possible that it is an Irian Jaya Jungle cross. If you bought it direct from the breeder, stick with the info they gave you.
