    Talking Pastels

When looking to pick out a pastel:

what types of things do you look for?

what makes a pastel a really nice looking pastel?(in your opinion)

When you're picking babies or juvies - as little orange as possible, since orange turns brown as they mature. A really faded head, and nice blushing.

me....blushings that are burned through as much as possible, lots of flames, anything abnormal, and very little spotting.

    Re: Pastels

In my mind I like lemons... Not the "Lemon" line everyone is selling but the origional ones with stark contrast and extreme yellows bordered with a solid black pattern. I have a female lemon, and shes going to produce the best bees (at least, so my dreams say )

But yes, contrast, and yellows... I like some blushing, but on my normals.

    Re: Pastels

We have a couple different pastels and with all of them we made our choice based on seeing something that stuck out on them! We love our Lemon Bee as she is a lot cleaner than others we have seen. Our graziani male is Het albino which is something we wanted then when he got here he was just too cute. Then our latest pastel is a blond with nice pattern reduction. Look for things you like and if you can see them in person first all the better.

    Re: Pastels

Exactly, little orange. I like as light of a pastel as possible.

Bright yello with little orange, reduced pattern, light head and lots of blushing and flames.
