    Male reproductive life

I know it is probably possible for a male to get a female prego his whole life....

But is there an age where the male passes his "optimum" breeding age?

Then, same exact question for the females...

    Thanks!

I don't think anyone has an exact number...

As BPs live possibly 40+ years, I can't imagine studies being complete!

It would be interesting to know though, wouldn't it?

My friend has a ball python that is around 40 years old, and he is still breeding. I'll call him and give out more information because i want to be 100% sure.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

That must have been a frustrating 15 to 18 years.

my cousin had no interest in breeding her as she was just a pet now we have the lemon pastel and she is here on BL...funnily enough she was the first ball python i had ever seen and it was her that got me hooked on snakes...it was a 10 year gap though till i got my own ball pythons.

    Re: Male reproductive life

LOL!!!! All that pent up sexual frustration.... She'll prolly lay 45 eggs.... hahaha. j/k.

The oldest snake that i've seen was a 12 year old male ball python that a friend had (he owns a herp shop). He ended up selling the big fella so pictures are out of the question. But I think his last weigh in was right at around 2300 grams. He was just a normal ball, but he was pretty large or at least for a male.

I'm really unsure if they have a "sexual peek" so to speak... but i'm sure that it's possible.

Who knows maybe someone will invent snake viagra!!!
