When to check for new pinks?

Since rodents are mainly nocturnal, do they also only give birth at night? I want to find the best time of the day to check on them for new pinkies.

    Thanks.

Since I check my tubs once a day for cleaning/food and water refills, I also use that time to lift the houses briefly for a pinky check. As for time of day, late afternoon; it seems the least intrusive time for them.

That is what I do as well, I either feed in the morning or around 4:00pm. Other than that I go in for cleaning and to get feeders every once and a while.
