New Tokay with questions...
Hello all,
I just got a new CB baby Tokay and I have a few questions for the die hard Tokay person out there.......
I am just wondering what has worked best for everyone else?
My little guy seems very stressed and is not very happy.....
I am about to set up his permanent residence in a medium Exoterra Terrarium Equipped with vines and hides...
I am just worried about his food intake, I have not noticed him eating anything....I mostly work with Boas and pythons, so a Tokay is new to me....If any one has any tips or pointers, they will be greatly appreciated......
One more thing, I am worried about him finding the food in his new enclosure since I have really not seen him move alot since I got him 2 days ago....I even observed him around 12 a.m.
???? should I just through some crickets and roaches in there and hope he finds them???

Well, if I'm not mistaken they always seem stressed and unhappy.

Re: New Tokay with questions...
Sorry to hear about the little guy. Sadly it sounds like it wasn't in the best shape when you got it if it went that quick.
My boyfriend was given two tokay's about a year ago. A male and female. They were both so skinny from lack of care. We were able to get them nice and healthy looking but suddenly the female passed away a couple of months ago. We still really don't know why, but luckily the male is still doing great and nice and big.
But for geckos that like to bite they are pretty cool. Here is a pic of the male we still have.
Did you talk with the person you got the baby from? Hopefully if it was from a breeder or even a pet store they'll return at least a part of the money you paid for it. Plus they might want to know if they happen to have it's sibling and want to keep an eye out for it.
REPTILES: Ball Pythons, Bearded Dragons, Blue Tongue Skink, Corn Snakes, Crested Geckos, Gargoyle Geckos, Mali Uromastyxs, Sulcata Tortoise, Tokay Geckos, Veiled Chameleons.
FISH: African Cichlids, Rhino Pleco, Silver Dollars, Tiger Oscars
MAMMALS: Miniture Pinschers, Cat, ASF's, boyfriend, me
