Re: Soaking in waterdish alot
Are you sure she's not gravid?
If not, some snakes just like to soak. BTW, what are the perfect temps and humidity?

mites, follicle development, hiding spot?

Re: Soaking in waterdish alot
Can be different things mites, overfeeding, hides not secure enough, temps too high, humidity too low.
You need to investigate, and if she persist in this behavior I would recommend to downsize the water dish.

Are you sure it's not mites? They are really tiny, they may be too small to notice right now.

I second Skoalbasher. Furio soaked in his water dish a few times when he had mites and none of them came off but one day, bam! could see a few moving around on him! Keep a close watch. If you're handling look on his back and sides at different angles. If you catch them in the right stage they're easily visible especially on brown parts of the pattern.

Re: Soaking in waterdish alot
umm my temps are 88-90 on hot and 78-82 on cool side
50-60 humidity. just in case i treated with PAM 2 days ago and soaked her
in warm water. she's not gravid i dont think. 2 half log hides one on each side wich she uses. and if any thing she didnt eat enough she ate three mice and is about 3 1/2 feet long. should i move to small rats? im just scared it'll be 2 much, thx josh

At that size, I'd say you should have no problem feeding small rats. It's better to feed one 'good' sized meal, than smaller, more frequent meals.

Mine also seems to soak for a while after feeding only time Juno ever seems to though.

Re: Soaking in waterdish alot
Whatever she's eating is fine, as long as she's eating on a consistent basis(weekly), is maintaining her weight and is thriving.
2-3 adult mice is the same as a weaned- small rat. Gram for gram, there is no difference in feeding one over the other. I have adult females who take down 4-5 adult mice in one sitting and grow like nobody's business.
If she's soaking, she's either: too hot, insecure(hides are not correct), has mites, or is trying to digest too big of a meal.
