    15 To 32 Qt When?,

    I Have MY 07's In A 15qt. Tub In My Rack When Would Be A Good Size To Move To 32qt's I Would Say They Mine Are 500 Grams Give Or Take? But I Heard They Do Better In A Smaller Encloser?

    Everyone does it a little differently this is how I do it

    Up to 500 grams – 15 Quarts

    Up to 1500 grams – 32 Quarts

    Above 1500 grams – 41 Quarts

    We go by a length to floor space ratio... 1ft of snake = 1sqft of floor space. The numbers below are the approx floor space of Sterilite tubs (we go directly from 6 to 27, since they usually grow too fast to necessitate the 16qt step), so you can get an idea of when we trade up:

    6qt = .75 sqft
    16qt = 1.4 sqft
    27qt = 2.7 sqft
    41qt = 4 sqft

    I move them from a 12 to a 28 at 600-750 grams.

    so is 6 qt the best sterilite to get when you have a hatchling? and then move up to 16 to 27 for juvenile stages and then 32 to 41 for adults?

    I use 6qt for all my babies till they are 500 grams then move them to a 15 till they are 900+/- then to a 32 till they are 1200-1500+/- grams
